Purrpals
This short and sweet piece was inspired by my good friend Jojo who shares and enables my cat obsession while also is a huge fan of the color purple. Purrpals is a play on words for those who are good friends, love cats and the color purple.

These were some of the original concepts when I was brainstorming the illustration.
I then took the animation one step further and turned it into a tangible flip book. It’s rare in such a digital world to have more tangible animation outside the player window. To see an animation go from digital to IRL was a rewarding process.
I animated the roughs for this project on the iPad in Rough Animator. I then brought it into After Effects and animated the shape layers over top of it.
